Question
i would like to run a 13.5 A/C unit with this how many panels would need? carrier AirV 13.5
Answer
Glad to help! Is the 13.5 number you mentioned the Amp load? The Amp load is one of the two pieces of information that would be very helpful. The other would be how long you would estimate the AC unit would be running per 24 hours. With those two pieces of information we can calculate how many panels would be needed and the battery bank size needed for your power storage requirements.

Question
Llooking for a way to power a large washing machine off grid. Would this work? Would it store the energy for evening or early AM loads?
Answer
I am not positive what the voltage requirements of a washing machine are exactly, but it is VERY unlikely that this panels would be able to support that load.

Question
I'd like to have this on hand in case of an emergency. Will it store well? Will the batteries accept a charge if they've been sitting for a few years?
Answer
I have not installed it yet. It was a Christmas present for myself for a 1976 Airstream that I am restoring from frame up. My plans are to make this a completely off grid machine for emergencies as well. The kit did not include a battery charger (converter) so I need to purchase that. My research has led me to the decision of purchasing AGM batteries. You can put these batteries in an enclosed area and not worry about gas fumes, acid erosion. The gel batteries should hold a charge longer and I would highly recommend them to you.

Speaking from experience if you have older acid batteries that have been sitting for a few years you probably will not get a charge. And if you had them sitting on a concrete floor they are finished. I hope this has helped. I am impressed with the kit from what I have seen and Go Power has a web site you can go to and watch videos for install.

Boondocking with Solar - Wild and Free Camping in an RV (video)

Published on Sep 23, 2013
We love being out there, in the wild and so while staying in a campground with lots of amenities and full hookups has its allure; our absolute and favorite type of camping is Boondocking or as we like to say, Wild Camping! There is nothing better than driving deep into the wild where the views are never ending and the sounds are au nat-ur-el! Plus, it's usually free (yep the free camping part is definitely a bonus)! Sure there are no hook ups (water, electric, cable or sewer), but it doesn't mean you have to live like a heathen.

Spend a day in the RV with us as we live "off the cord" at Fishtrap Lake BLM near Spokane Washington.

    1. I thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I do not pay anything for this website. It is a free website from google. I got tired of paying for a site and not getting any help with what I didn't know how to do (which is a lot since I didn't know anything about websites). So, when I found this free site from google I jumped on the bandwagon. At least now I don't have to pay for aggravation.
