Description:
From offgridsolargeneratorsThis Portable Solar Generator is a simple plug n play solar power kit. It comes with everything you need for portable power and all you have to do is plug the panel into the battery-box via 2 mc4 connectors that are male and female making it simple and quick.
The Portable Solar Generator comes with a brand new 100 watt solar panel, brand new 30 ft of wire, and a xantrex xpower 1500. The xantrex xpower is brand new but, I have added a 10amp charge controller and mc4 connectors on the battery-box and I test it before repackaging to make sure everything is working. The 30 ft of wire make it easy to put the panel in the sun and the battery where you need it.
Works great for remote areas without grid power, emergencies, camping, or whatever you need power for. The charge controller has a built in diode so when the sun goes down, it goes down with it and does not drain your battery at night. The reason this solar generator is the best in this price range is because you can attack additional battery power to the back + - bolts on the back of the unit. You just have to use a 12volt deep cycle battery, 20inch battery connectors, and just connect + to + - to - . (see xantrex manual for instructions)
For example you can buy a sealed lead acid deep cycle battery online that would be the best or you can just go to Wal-mart get a 12volt deep cycle marine battery. May qualify for federal tax credit of 30% when installed on residency, check your states credits.
The battery and the panel will ship separately and may not arrive on the same day. When you get the battery-box out of the box, simply locate the 2 mc4 connectors in the back and plug your 30 ft of wire into the connectors, then connect the other end of the wire into the mc4 connectors on you panel and you are charging.

Outstanding product -- Outstanding Seller

Verified Purchase
I bought this portable Solar Generator several month ago and have been using it every day since my purchase. After 2 months of use I can attest that this is a wonderful, reliable way to start using solar energy to begin powering portions of your home. It was easy to set-up -- absolutely plug-and-play and simple to use.
It is expandable so you can increase the amount of sun energy it stores by just buying another sealed 12 volt deep cycle battery and attach to the unit per the instructions provide by the manufacture. The seller was also wonderful to work with. He was honest and willing to work with me to give me what I wanted. I asked for a special smaller unit that would work with a flexible solar panel and he went out of his way to build me exactly what I asked for. That unit is also working wonderfully. I really love these two solar generator and am very happy I decided to buy from this seller.

Frequently Asked Questions
Question
How long does it take the solar panel to fully charge the battery?
Answer
A good 100 watt solar panel properly aligned to the sun in very bright sunshine will provide about 5 to 6 amps of charge into a 12 volt battery. A commonly used solar storage battery has a capacity of approximately 100 ampere hours (about the capacity of a fairly large "marine" style battery). This battery would require about 12-15 hours of GOOD sunshine to recover from being HALF discharged. This truth is almost always what's left out of the sales pitches for these "plug and play" solar generator systems. Yes, they may have an output of 1000 watts "continuous power"...but the reality is that the storage battery providing that 1000 watts will only last an hour or so.
The math is simple. Don't be fooled by vague specifications. ASK QUESTIONS OF THESE SELLERS!!!

Question
If the panel is facing the sun all day would I be able to use it to power a video-game console. If not could you advise me on how to do that?
Answer
Yes it should run a game console very well on the panel during day and pulling from the batterypack at night . the best part about this kit is you can add extra battery for double run times.I
